About Us

Andrea Scalici began her cooking career on the mean streets of New York, starting at the French Culinary Institute and ending up in the kitchens of Union Square Events – NYC’s most prestigious catering company. Here, she gained invaluable experience at venues like the Met, Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, and Lincoln Center. She even got to feed President Clinton while her coworkers were feeding President Obama across town. Through USE, Andrea has also worked with the teams of renowned chefs like Emeril Lagasse, José Andrés, and Eric Ripert.

Andrea has been cooking her whole life, growing up in Cooperstown, NY. She would stand on a stool in her kitchen while her dad taught her how to work a wok and her mom taught her about rolling pie dough. But she never thought of cooking full time until much further down the road...

After a degree from Penn State, a job for Major League Baseball, and some soul searching, she decided to turn her favorite pastime into a business. And so begins Duets Events, a catering business that celebrates the dance between chef and client to make every party unique – putting to good use her public relations degree, her culinary degree, and her excitement for seeing an event from start to finish.
